yes i went to the Doctorfor the past 8 yrs and they gave me medicine but it’s not working i don’t get it, i really don’t know how it feels like to not have a bladder infection

My 69 year old father has cancer. It started as bladder cancer, eventually they removed the bladder. Then they found more in his neck/shoulder and did chemo. They stopped the chemo for a few months to wait and see what happened. Another spot appeared in the same area. They started a different type of chemo but he started having a lot of pain in his hip and could not walk. They found cancer in his hip as well. They just finishedradiation on the hip and were about tobegin a new type of chemo when they found a new spot on his spine/lumbar area. They are going to beginradiation on that spot.
I live 1000 miles away from my father and want to go see him. He insists that he’s going to getsuperior and that I shouldn’t come. I do not know much about cancer, but don’t believe he will get better. How long should I wait? I do not want to wait until it is too late. I want my 3 and 4 year old to see Grandpa while he’s still alive. I know you can’t tell me how long he has, but keeps saying he’s coming to see me in October. Should I give him until October, then go? Or should I go sooner?

Oh, the bladder was removed this year, so everything else seems to be happening very fast.

my family kind of has a history with cancer. two of my mom’s cousins died of brain cancer and another cousin of her’s had ****** cancer as a teen and died. i think she also had a few aunts who had cancer as well. my grandmother died recently from bladder cancer (so we think) and we just got a call from a great aunt saying my grandma’s brother just go diagnosed with bladder cancer as well. my father also has had a few relatives and an aunt who passed away from cancer. what do you think the chances of me or my mother getting it is? both my grandma and great uncle (the one who just got diagnosed are pretty old (77ish). i dont know if age plays a factor in it or not.

what do you think the chances are?

Whether they currently have cancer, have had it in the past, or whether you lost them to cancer. I lost my dad in 2006 to bladder cancer. I’m not asking this question to upset people, but rather to see how many of us have had to watch our beloved moms or Fathersgo through the pain and misery of cancer. Sometimes people are very surprised by what they’ve in common. I **** to state this, but pain unites us. All day on here, people of different political and religious beliefs bicker and take jabs at each other. But when you find out that some of those “idiots” you don’t agree with have bore the same pain/burdens that you have, you remember that no matter how much we may all disagree on how to get there – that we all have the same goals in mind: to see our parents grow old without pain, to instruct our kids and provide for them well, to watch them grow up, to die before them, and to be happy, healthy, and fulfilled by what we do in life.
I’m just asking that people take a moment to share. You don’t have to tell the story – just mention whether it was your Motheror father and what kind of cancer it was/is.
